AS THE WEATHER WARMS UP and flowers begin to bloom, it’s the perfect time to refresh your cocktail repertoire
with vibrant, spring-inspired drinks. This guide will provide you with delicious recipes and helpful tips to create the perfect spring cocktails for any occasion! Spring cocktails are all about capturing the essence of the season. By using fresh, seasonal ingredients, you’ll create drinks that are bursting with flavor and aroma. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different combinations to find your perfect spring cocktail.
STRAWBERRY BASIL SMASH
6 fresh strawberries, hulled
6-8 fresh basil leaves
2 oz gin or vodka – I prefer vodka for
this drink.
1 oz fresh lime juice
0.75 oz simple syrup
Soda water
Muddle strawberries and basil in a shaker. Add gin/vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup. Fill with ice and shake it like you’re ready for French Quarter Fest. Double strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with soda water and garnish with a strawberry and basil sprig.
PEACH PORCH SPRITZ
2 oz peach nectar
1.5 oz Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon
0.75 oz lemon juice
3oz Prosecco
Soda water
Combine peach nectar, bourbon, and lemon juice in a shaker tin. Add ice and shake until well-chilled or shake it like you’re dancing to your favorite artist at Jazz Fest! Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Top with Prosecco and a splash soda water and garnish with a lemon twist.
LEMON LAVENDER MARTINI
2 oz vodka or gin – I prefer gin for this
drink.
1 oz lemon juice
0.75 oz lavender simple syrup (recipe
below)
Lemon twist, for garnish
Combine vodka/gin, lemon juice, and lavender simple syrup in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into achilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.
LAVENDER SIMPLE SYRUP
Combine 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, and 1 tablespoon dried lavender buds in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and cook until sugar is dissolved. Let steep for 30 minutes, then strain and let cool.
